Linda Quinn has been New York Apple Association, Inc.’s (NYAA) consulting dietitian and nutrition spokesperson since 2002. She helps NYAA to get the message out about the health benefits of apples and apple products.

As NYAA spokesperson, Quinn makes the rounds each fall to promote apple health benefits on TV and radio stations across the state, and is regularly quoted in print and online media. She also represents NYAA at the annual New York State Fair. She appears in NYAA educational YouTube videos, and authored the book The New York Apple Advantage: A Sensible Guide to Healthy Eating for NYAA in 2008.

Quinn is an experienced media spokesperson, writer, lecturer, radio talk show host, video producer, and exercise instructor. A prolific writer, she has authored numerous nutrition, food and recipe columns, as well as articles for magazines including Prevention, Eating Well and Mother Earth. She also made hundreds of television appearances promoting healthy eating and fresh produce.

Quinn is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and a Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN). She recently retired as Nutrition Services Administrator for the Central New York Development Services Office, supervising meal planning and a staff of 15 professionals who serve thousands of disabled individuals. She is an active member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (formerly the American Dietetic Association). She received the New York State Dietetic Association’s (NYSDA) Media Excellence Award in 2001, and its Distinguished Dietitian Award in 2010. She served as NYSDA’s Central New York media representative from 1992-2003; during that time, she wrote a weekly column for Syracuse newspapers from 1992-1996. Her video series “Fresh From the Garden” for NYSDA, the Farm Marketers Association, and the American Cancer Society of Central New York aired 2000-2002.

A resident of Syracuse, N.Y., Quinn earned a master of science degree in nutrition sciences from Syracuse University. She received a bachelor of science degree from the University of Florida in clinical and community dietetics. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
